"Martin Luther King, Jr." by Adyson Berryhill,
Overall Middle School Winner of the 2022 Georgia Day Student Art Contest

Georgia Day Student Art Contest

Students of all grade levels (K-12) are encouraged to participate! Online submissions are now open with the final deadline for submissions on Monday, January 23, 2023.

In the Georgia Day art contest, students compete by creating original artwork on this year’s theme, “Made in Georgia.” After being reviewed and judged for their creativity and use of Festival educational resources, winning projects will be featured online and through GHS social media. A prize of new art supplies will be awarded to one overall winner for each of the elementary, middle, and high school categories.

The theme, “Made in Georgia," challenges students to illustrate how perseverance and progress during a time of great change in Georgia helped generate products, industries, and entrepreneurs during Reconstruction and the late 19th century and how they continue to impact us today.

Whether it be a painting of a pristine peach orchard or a portrait of an exceptional entrepreneur of the time, students can be inspired by Georgia's rich history of its most influential products and people.
For information about the contest visit the Georgia History website.
